Those good days, "NVIDIA's drivers are better", "AMD has superior image quality and build quality". biggrin.gif

I must say I like the design of the card itself,Looks like a 5000,6000 series but fixed-up version,Iam glad they stuck to the Red and Black theme- These are considerd the Refrence coolers no? ......... 3000 Stream Prosessors wow just wow!

I have heard for years the majority of ATI cards owners - like I was for 5 years -, AMD cards owners saying nVidia cards owners couldn't turn on PhysX in software like 3D Mark Vantage or in games like Borderlands 2 to "fairly" benchmark the nVIDIA cards performance vs ATI/AMD cards performance. I just can't wait to see what that majority will say about not using Mantle to "fairly" test the cards. I think I'll be quite entertained with the discussion...

Anyways, I really hope the R9 290X beats and "ridicules" the TITAN for €550-600. I will get one for sure!

Wasn't PhysX an extra feature set that would negatively impact performance? Whereas the only thing Mantle does is optimise how the GPU is used.

I swear everyone on here has been asking for better software, AMD claim to have delivered it with Mantle. So what's the issue?

Are you an AMD fanboy again? I swear you hop over the fence so many times i don't know if it's sarcasm or a legitimate statement from you.
^^
LOL you two...

TPU edited their article with 2800 Stream Processor, and shamelessly removed 512-bit interface completely. 2 rumors are down already.

"Close to 2800 steam processors"

Either shoddy editing or there's something weird going on with Hawaii.

AMD need to hurry up and give us specs. 512-bit bus (likely), 3000+ Shaders (unlikely) and 2816 (possible) 2500 (very possible). Mantle isn't going to be out for 2 months, we need to know why we shouldn't wait until it and it's benchmarks arrive. Looks certainly isn't a reason. And did they explain what the stock cooling solution was either?

And how many people still believe nVidia has better drivers than AMD...They have more features but that's really it these days.

Well they are better at destroying cards with their drivers.

I can see this throwing a spanner in the works of my SSD scheme (again). But damn, if that card isn't ugly. Looks like Asus have had their hands on it. Why can't they take a leaf out of Nvidia's book (Titan/690).

I hope it has no DX9 issues. That's why I never got the 7970 - alleged issues with DX9. I want performance in new games, but if it can't handle old games competently then AMD knows where they can shove it.
