Did they say when it was dropping. I mean an actual date not some vague reference to some future time where any guess would be as accurate as another...

Your guess is as good as mine but no details will be revealed when the preorder starts. I say it'll be released same day as BF4

No, from the people that went to the NDA conference, AMD didn't even tell them when the NDA will be lifted.

Gotta admit AMD has been super at keeping quiet, good or bad. Seriously so much blackout in last few months. They don't need marketing, just say one thing and the internet lights up and spreads your name faster fire thru a propane plant.

Correct me if I'm reading this right.

No confirmed specs, and the only thing we've heard is that with 1 Mantle optimized game, when patched in the future, will increase performance to be faster than some immaterial Titan somewhere. Oh and put down some money now to pre-order on Faith. rolleyes.gif

I'm still looking to make a purchase down the road, but their pre launch marketing leaves something to be desired. My goal is to have 2 rigs, one green the other red.

Does anyone know a reason to justify buying a 290x over crossfire 280x's? Power consumption isn't a problem for me

You have to realize no one can justify recommending/buying any of them yet as we still don't know actual performance numbers or prices on the 290x. Anything anyone will recommend to you will be more or less baseless.

shut the front door,

taking pre-orders on a card with no specs out? I doubt AMD expects people to hand over >$599 for a 'mystery bag', especially off the back of Bulldozer...
release specs same-day as bf4 launch? I think they'd want owners to 'have' the card before/on the day of the bf4 launch...

They need to release it at least a day or two before BF4 so people can get one shipped to them before BF4 unlocks.

Do the BF4 SE pre-order people get their cards ahead of everyone else, or is that literally just a stickered-BF4-bundled-normal-card I wonder?
