Being level headed about this. Understand the need to put out a good driver. On the other hand do not see the need to promise the media 24 hour exclusivity with the driver.

Personally I'm not bothered by the vsync crackling that vsync causes (I don't use vsync) also not affected by the eyefinity frame pacing either(one monitor here), but if I was affected id imagine I'd be pretty angry that my hardware has been broken for this long with a way way way overdue promised fix, and here it is finally, but now I have to wait an extra day for essentially self aggrandizing marketing hooey.

Thumbs down to marketing over customer treatment.

Please don't take this post as a whine, it's just a comment of sympathy for people with issues this driver was fixing.

Pretty sure everybody can live with no eyefinity and better frame pacing for 2 more days though.

True but I'm also sure 100% of everybody can live without a tech review of a driver, as well. Don't see the point at all, it's definitely not customer centric.

It would be like being hungry and a restaurant having your meal wrong and now they finally got your order right and it's ready but before you can eat it first they pass it around so several people can taste it first and tell you how delicious it is and how much your going to love it.

But not only that you can't eat it till they publish it in tomorrow's paper so everyone knows how delicious your food is.

Very true especially for the OCN crowd but a review would make some people finally see that the drivers of either company are on par.
I blame people that don't understand that spikes under 16ms aren't really influencing the experience.

Any crowd that is eager for a review of a driver in the next 24 hours is on par with the OCN crowd. So don't take this as an argument, but 24 hour reviewer exclusivity is utterly pointless and borderline terrible marketing.

Because no review is gonna cover the way people get all foul and bitter over missing a date, and two by the time anyone who reads a review can even buy one of the cards the exclusivity will be over with a million real world user reviews to peruse.

Thirdly delaying fixes even by another day does not show that they are making progress in drivers, it shows that they care more about marketing than getting fixes into customers hands.

But like I said I got no skin I this game I play bf4 just fine as is, so I can wait. I do feel bad for those with issues rhough

On mine it went from 13.12 then when installing 13.30 showed 13.11 the toshiba 13.35 also did the same even after a driver wipe.
BF4 was complaing about having a version older the 13.12 last night and today until I regedited the version number.
I jist clicked ok and the game loaded tongue.gif I think that box just identifies that you have a mantle capable card and reminds you to update

AMD Catalyst Mantle Driver Delayed

As mentioned in our older article from Thursday, AMD discovered a major bug with its Catalyst 14.2 driver at the last minute, which threw a wrench in the works at the company. The driver was originally slated to come out in sync with DICE' update of Battlefield 4 on Thursday. AMD now tells us that their teams have been working overnight to fix the driver, and should have their next status update for us by mid-afternoon EST (New York time), later today. That update doesn't necessarily mean a driver release at that point in time, and so AMD might be forced to label it Catalyst 14.2 beta, keeping up with its calendar-based driver version naming. Catalyst 14.1 beta was expected to ship the first public distribution of Mantle, AMD's ambitious 3D graphics API to rival Direct3D and OpenGL.

AMD also mentioned a 24 hour exclusive period for press to evaluate the driver before public release, so it looks like your download will be at least 36 hours away.

Can always count on AMD to go Advertising first, customer second!
