My BF4 crashes after loading screen is done after enabling mantle in options and restarting game.

However star swarm benchmark runs without issue in mantle mode and had a 51% higher FPS average over directX on a single 7970.

Just open the file with openoffice or libreoffice then on an empty cell type =AVERAGE(A1:AXX)

xx=the last number from A1 or whatever you want

Going back to 13.12. BF4 can't even load a match on 14.1.

Was hoping to see how they would work on XFire 290's but it looks like I will need to wait ANOTHER month. Even disabling XFire wouldn't allow the level to finish loading. Insane. It just halts mid way through loading a multi-player level and hangs. I have to do a hard reset.

Mantle Low Framerate Bug Happens after PC wakes from Sleep or Hibernation [ Edited ]

Guys this happens either after my computer wakes up from sleep or hibernation. I either have to restart the PC, reinstall driver, cold reboot, warm reboot, before i can restore my real frame rates. i haven't really figured out the workaround yet but it seems to resolve the issue doing a warm reboot instead of a cold reboot. i know it's the beta, but i'm frustrated...

In Paracel Storm, normally i could get 75-110fps with Mantle, but when this bug kicks in, I only can go up to 42fps and my gpu usage all the way up.

I already tried the "RenderDevice.RenderAheadLimit" trick with values 0-3 but to no avail. Disabling vsync on or off no effect. Overclocking, setting to stock clocks, either the CPU or GPU doesn't help. Already did a clean uninstall of the drivers using DDU twice, doesn't help. I'm not formatting my computer, that's silly.

This is when it happens:

I'm keen to see when the next driver comes out how my R9-280x crossfire will perform and how my r7-240 at work will handle the game. I know the r7-240 is not a gaming card but still want to see if you can mange 60fps and make it feel smoother.

Still messing about with BF4, I can't do MP so i'm just running around in the test range and watching the fps counter

Tested at 1080p Ultra, FX-8350 @ 4.6Ghz, Crossfire XFX DD R9 290's 1000/1250

DirectX BF4 Test Range:
Min: 45
Max: 118
Avg: 65

Mantle BF4 Test Range:
Min:70
Max:130
Avg: 80

It's not a great leap in BF4 (though it was only the test range) but the map loaded faster and gameplay seemed much smoother than before (80 fps while spinning in a scout heli) Also both cards weren't at 100% usage, 2nd card was at 100% but the first wasn't getting over 40%......a bug of some sort i presume.

It seems Mantle in BF4 is still not finished (hence the Beta tag) but it's showing some promise for when they apply some polish to it smile.gif

those number look better then mine did yesterday with my 280x's. upon reading the driver notes at the bottom it does say there working on support for 280,270 and all the other gpus. so im guessing my pooooorrr performance is do to the fact this driver realy does not support anything other than the 290 series and the 260. terrible terrible terrible. so back to waiting again... still by looking at everyone elses number seems to be promising just wondering how long it will be before this mantle is up 100 percent. especialy with the directx 11.2 looming to come out as well. that under 8.1 is suppose to do some good things for gaming as well. but with everything its one of those hurry up and wait deals!!!
