One thing that doesn't make sense is that multiple installs fix this issue. This would mean that there would be some luck of the draw during the installation phase that what ever makes mantel work gets implemented, but hey this is the computer world stuff happens. The test I ran kinda make sense since it could mean that something during the boot phase when starting the computer is either missed making the driver unstable under mantel unlike after just installing it running perfectly.

I have the same experience actually. Occasionally Crossfire gets full scaling and sometimes it doesn't work at all and I get really stuttery results, this is in multiple games, persists after reformat, etc. The funny thing is if I reboot it works most of the time.

Also very strangely sometimes I reboot and one of my 5 monitors (The ones connected to the display port hub) fail to get video signal and I have to unplug/replug it for it to work, in this specific state if the computer boots this way crossfire always scales properly (very very strange). Like you said it seems as though something in the driver fails to initialize on boot occasionally.

Reverted to 13.12 for the time being so my performance is consistent. I am hoping Thief prompts them to come out with a new driver that fixes some of these issues.

Have u ran the starwarm benchmark. I was able to get it to work with mantel no problem, the only downside is that Starswarm doesn't have crossfire support....... yet.

Ok so i installed starswarm, and the 14.2 mantle driver.
Current system is 2 Xeons 2609, thats 2,4 quad core no hyperthreading each CPU. No Turbo.

So bassically 8 2,4 ghz CPU cores, no turbo no hyperthreading.
Powercolor Myst 7870XT, thats the Tahiti LE Chip (Still waiting for the radeon 8990, as it was called 2 years ago, today its called vesuvius)

Here are the runs:

I did run it, and yes Mantle is definitely working, with only one card it runs kinda eh at 5400x1920 but there is definitely a SIGNIFICANT framerate increase.

Yeeee brahhh, I decided to do it a few more times. Now I can overclock again!!!! (was immediately artifacting when I would touch any setting before)

Except I still get core clock drop in bf4 with mantle when I overclock (it bounces all around in the 900s), but for some reason it only happens when I have the game set to full screen, borderless, or stretched to my screen size in windowed mode.

If I put it in windowed mode and make the window like half my screen size, my core clock will hold steady at 1150...confused.gifheadscratch.gif
Sorry AMD
