Can anyone try thief mantle without vsync. I get zero tearing even if i move the camera super fast

Actually the minimum FPS makes a big impact for systems that cant run 30+ FPS on 60HZ screens but with 120HZ AVG FPS is of huge importance as long as its AVG is around 90+ FPS with 120hz screens often is pretty good occasional lows of 75 FPS or so is tolerable with 120HZ screens. Fact is Mantle helps for both of these higher average FPS and higher minimum FPS also the perk of often higher max FPS all are a benefit for both 60hz and 120hz screen users granted Mantle is still a bit buggy but what do you expect this is breaking the mold and is not like anything before on PC.


I want to point out optimum for 120hz screens is a minimum of 120 FPS but not many can get to that lvl average person has to tolerate around 95 FPS on 120HZ screens not everyone is made of money you know nor do they have the space to house 2-3 290X's ( $1400-$2100 just in GPU's non reference ones are ones you want for crossfire or trifire ) in theyre machine to get the minimum of 120 FPS.

Keep in mind that DX12 will require either a new version of windows, a brand new DX12 supported graphics card or BOTH unfortunately.

I find it no coincidence that it'll be rolling out shortly after Intel rolls out its DDR4 supported mobos and CPUs and likely Nvidia will be releasing its 800-series cards around that time as well.

All these things combined will likely make DX12 look even better on paper than it really actually is.

I will test later. I don't get any tearing at all in this game in DX mode with CFX, just for reference. (144hz)

So finally managed to get my 7950 to play ball with Mantle in BF4 - went from 14.2 to 14.3 using the AMD cleanup utility between. Went to test range to check out the difference. Went from 70 fps with High, and 2x MSAA --- to 85-90 with True Ultra. I like - it feels snappier to me also, found it easier to track targets etc. But that could just be me - I've not been in BF4 for 2-3 weeks.

All in all though, AMD is working it out slowly! thumb.gif

nvidia and amd already said which cards support dx 12, we already have the cards, so its up to microsoft, to give us what they should years ago or act like usual and do it in windows 10 and charge us for it.
