ouch man they screwed you on the internet speed im running 50+mbs download and 5+mbs upload with latency usually near 40ms and my entire network is Gigabit connection modem / router / network cards all my network cards are either Intel smart NICs or my Bigfoot networks Killer 2100. I want to point this out hardware used in your network also makes a improvement on latency and in general feel / performance. I know I have done the testing and man the file transfers from rig to rig are very nice thru gigabit. I want to say this your network is only as strong as its weakest link in my case my ISP is my weakest link even with me often downloading at around 75mbs and uploading more near 8-10mbs.

I will put my network hardware here so you know what im talking about cisco DPC 3010 modem / ASUS RT-AC68U router / 25port industrial gigabit SMART switch everything ran with CAT7 cable I used CAT7 for future proofing if they ever get fiber here I am covered as far as home network wiring goes. I want to point out I never want to have to rerun wiring in my home again that was a hassle so I chose to go overkill to see to it I dont have to again.

It's Satelitte Rick, can't change the latency there.

Going to a friends place for the week so i can log around 15-20 BF4 games with both Mantle and DX so i can see if i have the same issues as 9quad with the hitching etc.

When I say 88 fps and 140 fps, I mean it goes to that fps and stays there the whole time + or - 2 fps. So it is consistent as all get out and the average of 140 is decent but I never get the max near as high as prepatch which is well over 200 fps. It is literally min frame 138fps, max frame 142 fps, and average 99.9999% of the time 140fps.

So yeah weird is how I would describe it.

makes no sense that

2xaa=88 fps
4x aa =100 fps
2xaa and post high AA is 120 fps
4xaa and post high AA is 140 fps

Someone explain that to me, lol.

I used that example because 3x R9 290X is classified in the $1million ferrari comparison in PC parts only thing better is 3x Titan Z's or Titan blacks if you get my point but that would be in the realm of Bugatti / Maserati comparison not ferrari. I want to point out when you get into Bugatti / Maserati realm ferrari looks like a ford escort.

Onto actuall facts or needed test results to compare how does it vary from your DirectX min / max / AVG does DirectX stay solid 140 FPS %99.99 of time or does it have spurts of highs and lows and all over the places or is it solid also.

Cool thank you for the perspective. While you're not getting 200 fps anymore it's nice to see that 99.99% of the time you're above your monitors refresh rate which is very good especially with settings up to the max. I will be updating my BF4 this weekend after I finish adding my fourth card to the loop and transplanting into an STH10. And for talking about cars Lamborghini all the way tongue.gif

why Lamborghini if had option would be bugatti or Mclearan anything else I really dont care for I just simply dont care about how Lamborghini has went stagnant without much advancement in years slight alterations / upgrades but nothing ground changing Bugatti and Mclearan have always turned everything upside down and had mentality more is better from speed / handling and power standpoint.

I will say this we really do need to get back on subject lol sorry for my derailment of things I meant no harm just wanted to point out some facts.

regardless I would never be able to afford or own any of them and truthfully I am happy of that otherwise they would likely be scouping my body or whats left off a wall or out of a ditch somewhere I got a lead foot and am a dare devil my fiance forced me to get rid of my 200HP 400lb streetfighter ( 1997 CBRF3 super sport race edition 1yr only only like 1500 produced was OEM faster / more powerfull than most 1000CC race ready bikes it was 138HP bone stock they were 900rr fireblade engine on a 600cc frame ) crotch rocket I built from ground up 3yrs building the motor with my own 2 hands in my shop. That thing ran 1/8th of a mile in 4.9 sec it was amazingly quick and was a torque monster runnning 5k rpm's and above all the way to 15k rpm as I said built to the hilt and balanced to match it and also short stroked to take the rpm's and ask for more.

More of a sentimental thing really. The diablo is one of my all time favorite cars after seeing it as a kid. Aventador is on my list too. Although if we are talking hypothetically if I had all the money in the world I would grab the mclaren p1. Best "hyper car" of this generation IMO. Looks crazy good as well. Back on topic though....mantle!
Ok now i told everyone a few weeks ago that i would re-run BF4 in full MP to see what's going on.

Well i just did a round then on DX11:

Will update with Mantle shortly, using 14.3 drivers btw

EDIT: Added Mantle:

ok i'm stumped, this is freaking terrible compared to what i had before, Might have to revert to 14.2 and see if that helps at all.
Game was hitching every 40-50 seconds, GPU's weren't at 50% load most of the time.....just weird

EDIT2: Would probably help if i had the DX and Mantle graphs to the same size rolleyes.gif, i still had the hitching though, was only bad on one map really.

If you use crossfire resort to the old frame pacing method there is a command for it something like render device.frameahead blah blah, just google it you'll find it. The new method is a performance eating monster and acts wonky.

ok im not sure if this is placebo

does anyone here get better hitmarkers with dirextx? about a month ago I had almost no issues with bf4 and lag didnt seem like a concern to me but now i feel like im lagging more. Just not winning the same gun battles. I was shocked b/c I know I shouldve lost a lot of them . After I started lagging I did the fps check and it was low for what I had (avging maybe 70-80 fps w/ i5 4670k/ r9290). I switched to mantle and it almost doubled my fps but still was losing gun battles. Im back on directx and I guess its a little better but its not what I had a month ago when i wasnt lagging.

just ranting. I know I was lagging less before but dont know how. Didnt change anything to my network and updated everything. Might go back to consoles after this lol this is pissing me off doh.gifbiggrin.gif
