there has been many time if you don't do the driver wiper or cleaner after uninstalling a beta 14.1-14.3 driver and reinstalling a newer one or older one that it wont recognize the driver version properly in the Information Tab under software of catalyst control center so how are the files the same this has already been proven and is a widely known issue so for you to discredit it is BS do some research it is a common issue. I want to point out when this issue occurs often BF4 wont even launch in Mantle and will give errors or will just randomly shutdown and usually once you attempt to fire up using Mantle with this bug DX wont even function properly either so you need to do some research on this and rethink your logic.

I can assure you having to do multiple uninstalls and reinstalls and driver cleaner / wipers in between to get a good proper install isn't placebo affect and even the9quad I believe will tell you this. For some reason alot of times updating to a beta 14.1-14.3 driver can cause some form of corruption of the driver data itself it happens and only way to fix is multiple uninstalls and reinstalls with driver cleaner / wiper in between the reinstalls otherwise the results will be horrible and all over the place performance wise.

That is what i thought as well. Until I realized the reason the first Mantle betas were delayed was because of install issues. AND secondly, re-installing them actually drastically improved my frame times. I am however back to the 13.12's. The leaked drivers would not wake up from sleep anymore after the re-install, it was a periodic problem before the re-install, and after wards it happened every time. So something is definitely weird with the install.

My install process with network adapter off:

  1. Uninstall RTSS
  2. Reboot
  3. Uninstall MSI Afterburner
  4. Use AMD Catalyst Install Manager with Express Uninstall.
  5. Reboot
  6. Run DDU
  7. Reboot into Safe Mode
  8. Let DDU Remove ALL AMD including folders
  9. Reboot into normal Mode
  10. Run AMD Catalyst Install Manager with Express Install
  11. Reboot
  12. Run atikmdag patcher/CRU set frequency to 120hz
  13. Reboot
  14. Install MSI Afterburner/RTSS
  15. Reboot
  16. DONE

Not sure what I could do different or why one install would be different from another.

sure i meant that you have to uninstall properly.. but if you do it, you have not to do it again... easy biggrin.gif then if you simply overwrite drivers without uninstalling is possible to have issues....

e.g. you don't need to run DDU multiple times wink.gif if you don't trust me ask Wagnard

wrong it is common for the beta 14.1-14.3 drivers to install improperly making you have to do another driver cleaner / wiper and reinstall and rinse and repeat till it installs properly how do you not understand this AMD themselfs said these drivers had installation / uninstall issues do you not comprehend what that entails it simply means might require multiple installs / uninstalls with driver wiper or cleaner also multiple times to get the driver to install properly.

7stars you are saying this is false and attacking me for giving the same advise AMD the creator of the drivers have said and given so I hope you just move on trolling elsewhere or open your eyes / ears and do some proper research. Even the9quad said he had to uninstall / reinstall a few times of same driver to get it to function properly even after a Driver wiper / cleaner run and all the extra steps taken to insure proper installation many others in this thread also have said this and had same issue.

So you really need to read before you type or atleast have proper research done into situation before you say something is BS / false and don't listen to well known solid advise.

Facts are you calling sound factual well known advise false is only confusing others trying to get Mantle to work to try it and your advise is further skewing the facts and actually could be advise that is actually hurting the thread rather than helping it and your advise is also hurting other people coming to this thread for help.

also I don't need to ask Wagnard me and many others have already figured this out ourselfs anytime a driver uninstalls or is reinstalled / overwritten improperly DDU and such is needed to be ran to correct issue properly you saying otherwise is complete BS.

i had no issues to install... with any of these betas, 'cause always uninstall them before
then, they said that the first beta version was delayed about this issue... not that the released beta had this issue itself, that's different
when "the creator" of the drivers said that the released beta had this issue? please post a link, thanks....

I can't quite find the links but the AMD Radeon driver development team said this was a common issue that the beta 14.1-14.3 don't uninstall or install properly sometimes especially when overwriting a previous driver version and often have to be completely removed and reinstalled to fix issues with a driver cleaner or manually removing all the files / drivers yourself.

I always uninstall properly first, still had install issues. It says it worked fine with no issues, but I change drivers ALOT. Sometimes it just doesn't behave properly on fresh installs with the beta drivers hence the word beta.

Anyone using in Bf4 MP (64 maps) FX 6300 OCed (4.5Ghz +) and R9 290? ( was hoping for constant 80FPS in ultra (x2 msaa) with R9 290)
I would like to know, if FX can keep up with R9 290... (i have R9 270X + FX 6300 4.5Ghz) getting around 100 FPS 1050P medium (HBAO,AP - High, x2msaa).. somebody is offering me R9 290 really cheap.

sry for my english.

Have a nice day.

This guide is ok, but only for INTEL users. Don't EVER NEVER use express uninstall when you run an AMD chipset/CPU as it will delete all the other AMD drivers which in some cases can totally bork your system because you will delete usb support and other drivers which will leave you without keyboard and mouse input upon windows desktop. For example, in win 8, you can't boot into safe mode. Restore works, but only if you don't have isssues with Internet security software.
