I feel you on this one brother. I am playing a heavily modded Skyrim on Eyefinity so I need whatever I can to give me a performance boost. But from my experience with Bethesda, they are done and done with Skyrim. If they code for Mantle it will be Fallout 4 and we'll have to wait for the next TES game after that. sad-smiley-002.gif

Such a wonderful game, with such a crappy engine. With a heavily modded game, it is like riding in a Ferrari with a 4 cylinder out of a 87 Honda under the hood. I dont know enough about the way game engines work to understand the difficulties that would have to be overcome to get Mantle+Skyrim, but it sure sounds like we are just S.O.L.

Unfortunately, I have already been warned once, so I will just keep my word vomit in my mouth on that topic.

I'd like to know why they had a Mac on stage at the end. Wonder what that's about.
Was it the Mac Pro? If so it's cuz it's using Firepro cards in a super miniscule package. I'm not an Apple fan, but that packaging... you have to tip your hat to them for that one.

it is ok to hope but based on my experience with BF3 MP using my Zosma that can unlock to hex - i picked the i7 and i don't regret it. it handles the 290 just fine. my phenom handles my hd7770 just fine, too. what i am trying to say is . . . i made sure my hardware are balanced, so i don't have to rely on mantle or any other new app. i agree with you about BF4 being just fine. no issues at all every time i want to play i can. it takes a long time to get in but that's about it.

Rofl an i5 does NOT bottleneck a 280X. I have ran a high OC 770 and a watercooled 7950 and neither were bottlenecked, but his 280X does? I have no problem in MP and get over 80 fps average...

Yup, my 4670 at stock is able to push both my 7950s at 1080p with ease.
Definitely something else than a bottleneck going on there. HT won't really increase your FPS too much in BF4..

my i7 SB at 4.5 HT off did, too. pushed my 7970 or my 7950 to max. but in MP 64 during huge explosions it ran out of steam in most maps both BF3 and BF4. them crossfried in BF3 MP 64, HT helped.

As much as I want to believe that... I just can't believe that. I have no objection to AMD proving me wrong on this.

I am still expecting 10% improvement minimum and 20% improvement maximum.
