I rebuilt my system going from air to water. At the same time I changed my RAM going from loose timings on Kingston 1600 to tight timings on G.Skill/Samsung 2133 CL9.

OLD - 22,881 : http://www.3dmark.com/fs/1536771

NEW - 23,247 : http://www.3dmark.com/fs/1536771

CPU clock was exactly the same. GPU clocks were very slightly faster on the new result but not significantly so and they were not throttling on air. Main difference is the RAM speed.

edit: similar result in Valley -- I got about 6-8 FPS more using the same GPU clocks.

Get back to Mantle discussions before Sugerhell goes mental. tongue.gif

@NYMD:
Thanks for posting those results. All the benchmarks and user experiences have been highly useful.

I hope I get a chance to work with mantle. Would be nice to get away from low level C based assembly language because it is a bit boring to work on. smile.gif

Dude you had 3 threads that you discuss your problem with your pc. Its a mantle thread not a my pc sucks so i need help and open 9 thousands threads to fix it

Going OT is wrong. There is no need for report its easy to understand it

I dont want to see new notifications on mantle thread just because you want to post 3dmark results.

The past few pages you've spoke about RAM.....
So it's fine for you to go off topic, but not me?
You are the only one going OT and everyone can see it.
If your sick of notifications, you know how to unsubscribe.

Anyway, I wonder how hard Matle is to work with and how effective it is with other architectures other than GCN?

Good question. I just put together a A-6 6400k-6670 HTPC for the kids to play minecraft and watch movies on the projector. It is obnoxiously slow at certain things, and wonderful at others. It could use some CPU strain offloaded to the GPU. It gets pegged at 99% and has bad FPS drop style stuttering with a pretty weenie game "Cube World," that my 10 year old plays, even at 1280x720, while the 6670 is barely breaking a sweat. I really hope Mantle gives this thing some headroom. I am a Intel guy, but I couldnt pass up the $69.00 mobo+CPU combo at Microcenter....don't disappoint me AMD!

It would be interesting if AMD gave us more technical information in terms of how Mantle operates from a programming and architectural point of view. I'm all for reducing CPU headroom. Better yet, cram more data efficiently towards the CPU for higher performance within CPU dominant games. Either way, the more fps the better.

What frequency of ram you using on that combo APU's especially love high speed ram because the system ram is also the Vram for the APU and it has been proven to give huge performance increases to have fast ram on a APU.

th is the proof take a look http://www.facebook.com/notes/gigabyte/using-high-performance-ram-with-amd-a-series-apus-in-dx11-gaming/10150250045504446?ref=nf
