hello, i wanted to know if i could run a PCIE x1 sound card and put my graphic card in the PCIe x16 on the third slot if it would stil run fine? unfortunately the PCIE x1 slot is right under the PCIE x16 first slot

Yes it will be OK however, if you look in your BIOS you should see a X2 and a X4 setting for your pci -e slots. You'll need to switch that to x2. You might loose some performance, but I would think it would be almost unnoticeable.

You can stick the PCIe x1 sound card into ANY slot you want, including PCIe x16 and PCIe x8 slots. PCIe x16 slots are compatible with x8, x4, and x1 cards in addition to x16.
