would it be a better option to go either for the new r9 290x in x-fire or go 7990 quadfire? after seeing the press release and the scores for firestrike it seems like as stated before that most of the other cards are just rebrands and there might not be that much of a gap between the new r9 and the 7970 so wich would be a better option if the pricing is going to be about the same (assuming the r9 is around 600)

Definitely the R9 290X in Dual-fire. Much more performance gain. Too many issues with quadfire.

Having just come from 7990 Quadfire I will advise you to rather wait for the R9 290X. thumb.gif
Although the 7990's were amazing, Quadfire wasn't great, just had way to many issues. Running a single card was perfectly awesome though.
Even running 3 7970's was fine.
