The 290x is AMD's new single gpu flagship card. I'm going to guess their next dual gpu card, will be 295x(?) maybe.

Hopefully helps with some crossfire problems.

the fingers are most likely hidden in the picture behind the oversized shroud. this card is as wide as the MSI lightnings.

CREATOR: gd-jpeg v1.0 (using IJG JPEG v62), quality = 90

shroud is about the same height.

great looking card, but having just recently had 2 XFX DD 7970's I was not impressed with their cooling or overclocking, I just don't think I'll be going back.

This card will be $300, right? Why not buy a nice 7950 and oc a little bit to reach the same performance for a little more than half the price? I just don't get it.

Of course, but I guess my feelings are that there is a much larger gap between cost of the two cards compared to their overheads. The new card will cost 75% more than the old, but will have maybe(guessing obv) 15-20% more headroom. I'll wait(again) lol

is there any reason to get a 7970 over a 280x?

source for such an outlandish claim?

And the cooler looks nice but probably still performs terrible. I've lost all confidence in XFX coolers. I also have to LOL at ALREADY using a custom PCB for no apparent reason other than to cut corners. I don't want your cheapo low-quality-component PCBs, I want a proper reference PCB directly from AMD with a custom high performance cooler attached to it.
