The 3gb is fine. Based on the alpha you're looking at 30-40fps at 5760x1080 with VHQ settings and 4x MSAA. With slightly lower settings such as HQ and 2xMSAA you could probably get 50-60fps.

Dunno about BF4 but on BF3 you can get 65-85 fps on maximum but 0xaa.
Google for some benchmarks.

Here is a collection of benchmarks *Keep in mind they are from different dates so driver and other changes to the game affects the actual performance of today if( you compared it now)*

There you go, I didnt add any benchmarks with 7970 crossfire vs gtx 760 sli because i wasn't able to find the two in the same comparison

I just want to note... My 670's GPU would choke before even hitting 2gb usage in surround.

for possible triple monitors, get the 780, and add another one when you have the money to do so.

As for which 7970? I would pick one from MSI or ASUS, keep in mind gigabyte, XFX, diamond ,Sapphire and a few others lock their Gpu Voltages at about 1.10-1.25, MSI and ASUS in the other hand do not( half of the time, if they do they have it locked it is at a high voltage- about 1.25v)

I can only speak with experience with the 7950 from msi locked at 1.25 Volts and what i have to say is that MSI's Twin frozr design is nice and cool, i have mine overclocked to 1.15 Ghz which is above normal overclock with a really bad asic % of 50%, while staying below 70 Degrees C.

Also when buying an 7970 buy a boost one , they really have no difference expect have a higher Stock Voltage and Higher Clocks.

AND.... BF4 is rumored to be in the AMD never Settle Forever Bundle this Fall. biggrin.gifbiggrin.gifbiggrin.gif

If your mainly upgrading for BF4 you may want to look into getting a R9 290x, it might be slower the 2 7970's but the 290x will come with BF4 and will be able to use mantle which could close the performance gap in BF4 and you wont have to worry about CF issues.

I would watch out, crossfire+eyefinity is still broken.

Also, 3gb is PLENTY for 3x1 1080p.

this will tell you more about the eyefinity + crossfire issues Which will hopefully be retroactively fixed with Hawaii release.

If you are upgrading for BF4, i would keep waiting. The whole Mantle thing is still 99% shrouded in hyped mystery.

i was going to settle on the saphire vapor x as i heard that is a good one and i don't really plan on overclocking crossfire
