or you can just do a total submersion in Novec 7100 set it inside this...

don't mess with the KELVINA-TOR !!! biggrin.gif

I hope this isn't a regular deep freeze and is intended for continuous running. Like the rule of thumb in the TEC forums, "You cannot cool a computer from putting it in a fridge."

that's what got me confused... these are lab freezers, models ranging from -40C to -80C and they go lower.

you mean if I fill this 30+Gal res with used Novec which is still good for heat transfer applications, with say 5gal of Novec and do a open bath immersion directly inside the freezer itself it wouldn't work? biggrin.gif

I've heard if you find a source you can get used novec pretty cheap... the idea of sub-zero total immersion enthralls me and wonder if it is even doable say at -30C

If you fill that 'tub' and drill holes for that to be used as your reservoir, then the cold liquid in the res will recirculate and cool it down, so a Res/Cooler all in one

with the motherboard and graphics card submerged directly inside it...?

Novec 7000 is pretty interesting fluid, it wil not freeze in this -40C medical freezer and it is non-conductive.

I am sure if it was full with more than 5 gallons of novec closer to 15 or 20 gallons the freezer system itself would have less of a problem removing the heat from the -40C chilled novec.

I envision a strategically gated or timed fan mounted in one of the doors to remove any buildup of heat...

this is more simple than it is complicated... acquire lab freezer, plug it in wall socket, fill with Novec... insert motherboard.

Im talking about using the freezer as a part of the loop, with the mb dry and possibly in the pc case

Ok! Thanks for your help! Im pleased to see that finally, I would see a use of my conditioned air that I never use.. i will transform the chiller to cool my big-ass loop! Thanks everyone for helping me! Ive made my idea to really cool down my loop!

OH hey guys! Ive got a way to cool a loop with TEC! You can stick a CPU block and put the cold side on the CPU block then on the hot side, a simple heatsink with a Delta fan! You can see an example here: http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/282844-29-peltier-water-cooling

man I thought that thing was on the CPU doh.gif
