need advice for a new phone - Page 3

the advantage of nexus phones is they get updated, and generally come with less bloatware. As a result they can last twice as long as another phone. I think the OP has settled on the note 3 though because s/he draws and it has a good stylus.

sucks more power and isn;t any faster than the domestic s3 Plus it NEVER comes subsidised, which is a requirement here.

any perticular reason why?

Seriously think about the Moto X.

I personally got the Droid Maxx, and they're exactly the same internals. It has 8 cores, a dual core for phone functions (saves battery over a quad), dedicated 4 core gpu, 1 core for accelerator, and 1 core for voice control. These make the phone pretty snappy and quick compared to a quad core that divides it's work load. Definitley feels quicker than my mom's S4, it could also be due to touchwiz, whereas the moto's run stock android (or at least the closest to stock).

I personally got the Maxx cause I use it all day, lasts at "least" 36 hours, most has been 42 hours. Moto x will last a not as long, but it isn't terrible. Touchless Control is cool, especially when driving or you're eating ribs, active display is very good for quick looks and saving battery, the camera will not be as good as the competition, but it's not a deal breaker for me. Call quality is excellent and the phone build is study, even though it's plastic. I suspect the Moto X will feel better in the hand than the Maxx, unless you have manly hands like mine.

I don't work for Moto or Verizon. smile.gif

Depends what your needs are.
If only for phone calls, get the cheapest flip or whatever dumb phone.
Else, Note 3 for email, web browsing or simply battery life just for calls.
If you have large pockets, go all the way in with a Nexus7 LTE.

The iPhone is a bit more boring, but its the most stable. The apps are better as well. You may suddenly be hit by the lack of choice, but I prefer just having one good app rather than several kinda good apps.

mmm EVERY samsung product you owned was broken? lol, I have a lot of samsung machines (phone, TV, HDD, SDDs, even my washing machine...) and they all have lasted until today with no problems, also, android is very stable, I don´t know why do you put that arguments, I know that Samsung Phones are a bit overpriced, but iphones are ultra-mega-hyper overpriced... and everyone just buy it becouse it looks cool but its hardware lets much to ask for, just its OS is incredibly optimized for it, becouse theres only one kind of phone for that OS, android is not that far optimized but is a more open enviroment, I laught when people tell me they just bought an iphone and a minute later they start asking me how to send a song with bluethooth or whatsapp...

I'm not a fan of phones with glossy plastic backs but if that's not an issue, the G2 also looks good. The next generation Nexus phone will more than likely be based on the G2 and leaked images suggest it will have a non-glossy back so that may also be of interest.
