Expert Input needed for CHIV Rebuild to FX8350, Vengence 1600, Crossfire MSI7870s

Thread Starter
Was looking for any expert advice on problems I might encounter or things I need to be aware of concerning the following rebuild.

Upgraded CHIVF to Bios 3029 already

Current Build - Nothing is overclocked (never needed too)
FX955 Black w\ Stock Fan
XPS 1333 2x4 8GB
2xAsus 5770s
2x75GB 10K RPM Raptors
2X500GB WDs 7200s (for storage and non-game apps)
850W Blackwidow Thermaltake
Win7 64Pro
Case ANTEC P183

Getting Ready for BF4 on the cheap

New Build Components - Don't plan to overclock
FX-8350 w\ COOLER MASTER Seidon 120XL RL-S12X-24PK-R1 (Understand Stock Fan is Crap)
Corsair Vengeance 16GB(4x4) 1600 CMZ16GX3M4X1600C9
2xMSI Radeon HD 7870s 2 GB GDDR5 R7870-2GD5T/OC

My question are:

1. Should I reset the CMOS before dropping the new CPU in?
2. What if anything will I need to tweak in BIOS to run RAM at 1600MHZ?
3. I've read an HD7870 is the low-end recommendation for BF4 but with 2 in crossfire can I expect good performance, I took a chance because my HD5770s ran every game on ultra until this year on ultra. (ME2, Witcher, DA, DA2, etc...)
4. I'm also replace my case fans with 2x120mm 15 Blade AEROs for better flow through since liquid cooling actually heats case (1 to provide cool air for the HD7870 card fans drawing air from the front of the case directly onto the cards and one to help push heated air from the Seidon Liquid Cooler out through the top.

Welcome to OCN!

1. If the bios is already updated and still on default settings you should be fine, other wise yes reset cmos.

2. Simply manually enter all Dram settings listed on dram itself. Timings, freq and voltage. Don't be surprised if it takes a little more than stock voltage this is common on the AMD platform. Sometimes as much as .05 to .1v but you'll need to test your system to find out. If you need help with the bios I do have a basic bios setup guide that may help. PM me if interested.

3. I'm of no help with GPU's sorry.

4. I'll assume you have the fan on the radiator as a intake? If so have you tried running it as exhaust?
I run both of my rads as exhaust.

One thing to remember is hot air goes where you push it.

You may want to click the link in my sig below and come join us in the Asus Crosshair IV thread where you'll find many helpful links on the OP as well as a lot of good people with the same setup willing to help. Thinking about the dual GPU's.

If possible do yourself a favor and change out the dram kit to 2 x 8Gb kit instead of the 4 x 4GB. It's easier on the IMC and you'll have better luck OCing.
