HD 7950 Brand Differences - Page 2

I guess if the wind force has the voltage already raised by default it is a good choice. The only thing I'm concerned with is that if I buy a 7950 now that when the new R9 series comes out the prices will drop even further.

Is there any info on 7000 series getting a price drops when the new series releases? Or are they pretty much as good as they will get for this year?

well the 280x is just a rebrand 7970 so no real threat of buying a 7950 and feeling bad about it....

280x = 300$ 7950 = 200ish

they said the 280x gets over 6800 in 3dmark and my 7950 oc gets like 7300 so.... I think buying a 7950 is pretty safe.

I don't think the prices would drop more than $50 so if you want to wait i'd say wait, if not go for it.

Well I have no problem waiting a little while to see how prices change. I just wish they would gives out pricing on items before sale events with new egg. They have the current overstock/clearance event thing until the end of September.

But in 4 days the "October Anniversary Event" starts and I have no way of knowing if prices will be better in the next sale event.... kind of lame.
