HELP! My multiplier is stuck on x8 - Intel 4770K on a ASUS Maximus VI Extreme Board

post #1 of 2
Thread Starter
Has anyone else had this issue and was able to fix it? No matter what I have tried, my multiplier is stuck at x8 even under 100% load. It worked fine until one day I tried the ASUS AI USB+ charger to quick charge my tablet. My system crashed and I lost my drive in RAID0. I have reinstalled windows 8 several times but it is still showing the CPU multiplier stuck at x8 and trust me, it performs that way. I've tried it all... reset UEFI (BIOS) updated UEFI, Cleared CMOS etc etc. about 100 times. I am so bummed. Did I ruin my CPU, motherboard or something else??? PLEASE HELP.... ANYBODY ;...{

Have you tried ThrottleStop yet? Make sure the BD PROCHOT box is clear, click on Set Multiplier and set that to the highest value, make sure EIST is checked and then click on the Turn On button. Run 1 thread or more of the built in TS Bench to load your CPU for a quick test. Post a screen shot when your CPU is loaded if you are still having problems. The latest version supports the Haswell CPUs.

ThrottleStop 6.00
