But the controller isn't much different from a PS3 controller...or really even a 360 if you get right down to it. It is just 12 buttons on something you can hold in your hand. If is a PC game you can map them however you want.

The change from sticks to pads and the different button placement makes this way different from a PS3 controller, regardless of the number of buttons it has or the fact that you hold it in your hand.. Being able to better simulate mouse control and hit buttons easier aren't small differences. Simplifying things to "12 buttons and you hold it in your hand" doesn't hold up.

Well that wasn't my goal...i am saying it isn't going to be any different as any other controller when compared to a keyboard and mouse.

But it will be different than other controllers, only similar in that a keyboard and mouse is still more precise and has many more keys.

After watching the demonstration of the controller...HELL NO is my reaction. I dont think its alternative to movement and aim is good. Your fingertips will be worn out like a tire, unless Valve uses a very high quality surface/button OR you play very mild games.

*sigh* There always has to be people who are critical of something before it even comes out and no one or next to no one has even tried it. rolleyes.gif

I briefly read the title of this thread, and for .35 seconds I cried with joy inside.

Then I re-read it and realized it didn't say "Steamroller Announced".
