Everything else has been thought of and some of the moves they made such as having 5 man squads and adding the mode Defuse were based on the idea of making BF4 eSports friendly.
What more do you want them to do?
I hate to directly compare it to a different game, and a game most people never really got to play or dive into, but after playing MAG on PS3 ( Domination mode ) BF3's objectives, and teamplay ( or lack their of ) seem extremely weak. I'm not saying the same style would work in BF, but it could still learn a bunch of new things.
Thing's I'd like to see:
1: Not just squad chat, but proxy chat as well. This way you can actually communicate with different squads as long as you are near them.
2: Objectives that are more than just "Capture point and hold". In MAG you could take out bunkers, anti-air batteries, mortar batteries ( all of which give teams tactical advantages like keeping air out, closer spawns, dropships out, and team leader specific tactical strikes ). In this game objectives were repairable, and you would WANT to repair everything because of obvious downward spiral effects as one piece of the puzzle falls eventually the rest start to fall faster unless you work together as a team to bring them back online. Things like a repair mechanic for objectives as well as just smarter night and day losses for losing these objectives would be a start.
3: Tiered group leaders with incentive for being a leader. In MAG for example there was a squad leader which controlled squads of six. He could set objectives that gave everyone bonus XP for following his orders. Over him was platoon leaders, which controlled 4 squads, and could once again send out specific objectives with bonuses, as well as having leader specific abilities that gave tactical advantages. And last there was one leader that controlled the entire company ( team ), who had the most tactical abilities that benefited teams.
I'm not EXACTLY sure how commander mode works but I hope it does do some of that. I really could never explain how much more deep MAG is without an hour long video. Not saying MAG is better in every way or anything because the depth is really the only advantage MAG has on BF.
