This isn't true. If you buy a low end card for PhysX and use a high end GPU your PhysX card will hold you back and limit you to that speed. Both your main gpu and a PhysX card need to be almost at par. A Gtx 780 as a main gpu would require at least a Gtx 560Ti/Gtx 660 so as to suffer no performance loss. Another thing, running an AMD gpu with an Nvidia card for PhysX? Not a good idea, it was possible only through a driver hack and does not scale well.
For me tessellation makes quite a huge difference for me in games. The visuals increase drastically and this is what is noticeable in Metro LL. If the Radeon R9-290X does better at it than the Gtx 780 then that would be amazing. Otherwise then the Gtx 780 would have PhysX and better tessellation support making users more inclined to buy it.Edited by jason387 - 9/28/13 at 8:05pm
