Can't Install Java

Hello everyone.

Having a good night? I'm not.

Today I tried installing the 64-bit version of Java on my Windows 8 machine. I already had the 32-bit version, but Minecraft was complaining about not enough memory. Long story short, I downloaded the offline installer. I got through the screens, and then it brought me to the installing screen. Nothing happened. No bar, and no CPU usage from Java or windows installer. For all intensive purposes it hung. Now, I ended the process and tried uninstalling Java 32-bit. (thought a clean install of both would help) but the uninstaller wouldn't move either. It just hung on "preparing to remove" and I had to forcequit it as well.

Now, I downloaded JavaRa and removed java using that, and I downloaded both installers again. After cleaning the registry and restarting, neither of them will show any progress on the installer. I know it's not UAC, because the warning already pops up before the window appears.

This is extremely frustrating.

Thanks for your help.

What does it do exactly when you try to install it? Have you tried installing it as an admin? Right-click run as administrator?

It runs as normal up until the point where it actually installs. The loading bar is empty, and nothing happens. I have to end the process to close it.

I've tried running it as an administrator but nothing changes.
