h100i strange noises..

post #1 of 8

Hey guys, so I've had my h100i since May and it has always made these weird noises;

I've checked for air bubbles by flicking the tubes, tapping the pump, tilting the case, etc etc. So I'm not sure if that is the cause. I've also checked the fans (Currently using NF-F12's) and it isn't coming from them. So, any ideas one what it could be?

My forst h100i, had a noise on the pump. The propeller broke, so the pump ran, but had no flow. I had really bad temps even at stock speeds for my 3770K. if your temps aren't normal, set up an RMA. Corsair will take care of you! thumb.gif

Strange part is my temps are completely normal o.o I get around 60c on 4.5ghz at full load. The RMA would also take quite a excessive time longer since I'm in Australia, along with having to pay for postage so I guess i'll just have to live with it

Honestly, If temps are fine, I wouldn't worry about it. CRank up the volume on games/music when the PC is in use thumb.gif

My H100i had a problem with pump noise after startups... I figured out that it was the pump not running at full speed (it would show a pump speed of ~650 "rpm" instead of the full speed which is ~2200 "rpm"). If i put the computer to sleep and woke it back up the pump would also "wake up" and go full speed... thus not making the noise. But my temps didn't look good when it made the noise (which you would expect if the pump isn't working full speed). Like 85-90 C at load at stock speeds. But you might check corsair link when it makes that noise and see how fast the pump is running....
