So was I--a few rigs had died and whatnot and I forgot just how much I had in all that. That particular shot with the 2 Cheetahs the 2 Raptors the 2 x1950pros and the multiple pairs of matched DDR and DDR2 is worth framing...

Right now I am inventorying my undamaged rigs...ICE is geting hungry.

First victim: MSI opebn Box from the Egg that just arrived--ICE loves fresh meat.

Then there are the 2 P4 rigs from Renegade I still need to bring into the Fold--but after losing two mobos on the porch Farm I need to make these more weather proof. More Crunch Boxes--maybe a stackable unit...LOL

And I have a BioStar that is so pristine I kinda want to build it in a nice mATX FF case.

For CPUs the first victim will be an Opty155 from Transonic--a sort of warm up for the 165 on itw way from the Egg. That and the MSI that just arived are my great hope for at least ONE positive experience with phase cooling.

The P4s need to get folding--I have a 2.5 a nd 2 2.4 Northies in s478 that are not really that exciting for benchmarking--but they do crank through the WUs...

I killed BigVal's 660 and I Killed Snerp's 3700+ so even though they may have some lprocessing left in them ICE prefers live prey.

I do have a lone D805 lookng for a ride...and I have been wanting to get a Kentsfield capapble mobo for a future build (after the 40% price cut) according to the lore I should be able to get some decent results with the D805...but until I get the Mobo it is on hold.

WaterClocker got a transplanted mobo to replace the one that died of exposure doing Farm duty...but need to have the WCing reinstalled...and i want to rework it somewhat while I am at it...soon...might even be next.

The lil Centurion I call PortaRig is still working--but needs a revamp on the interior--I gutted everything in hopes of cooling the ridiculously hot D820 and it is the little box with too many fans LOL. hot and noisy....not something I would really want to tote around to parties or anything...but still a decent little rig. And a repository for 160GB of files...

Claw is fine--leaving well enough alone--infact I backed down the OC so i can keep the fans low.

Now that the Wife has her C2D rig I can clean up the first "modrn" rig I built. It needs a replacement for the ailing and ancient FX graphics card. Nice little IE rig though--super quiet, Antec Sonata, passive heatpipe cooler on the CPU...

The rest of the stuff is just a jumble of fans/parts/cables/sheathing/PSUs...all manner of fasteners...a real nightmare to organize...
Hey CD,

Make sure those "killed" CPUs aren't cold bugged. My chip was a KACAE which aren't known to work well with Phase. On that note:

*Snerp gets down on his knees throws his hands into the air* NOOOOO!!! WHY!?!?!? WHHHHHYYYYYYYYYYYY?!?! DAMN YOU ICE!!!! DAMN YOU!!!!!

Why do you have so many Gskill sticks that aren't in use? That hurts to see

My plan (if you could call it that) is to set up a decent Folding Farm ala JRabb1920 composed primarily of gear purchased here.

The gear goes through a cycle of WOW that's new to me to ....hunh that's all she's got to.....well it'll make a good Folding Rig.

It's a natural cycle from frolic to cholic to bollocks....then out to pasture with the rest of them...

However that has it's downside because of the scattered remnants of data hither and yon on the network here at Little Mountain. So I am currently collating and sifting down to a master copy of all the many many duplicates of files on my various rigs. Once I have them pretty much fully backed up I plan to decomission many of my beloved rigs and strip them into skeletonized Folding Rigs...preferably sans HDDs at all...in my shed...it's an idea I have been hoping to implement about now actually--and I just need to do the same sort of sifting and decompling of all my household junk that currently occupies what should make a nice Folding Shed.

So when people tell me to get a Conroe (which I already have BTW) it's not about latest greatest...it's about experiencing all these different rigs...the stuff I buy here was just a short while ago great stuff...but after 6 months to a year ot is serioously underpowered (LOL). For what I do 99% of the time stuff 5 years old would work...heh. Not that I am a junk collector. I simply want to see how all these rigs perform firsthand--I have a great curiousity about each and everyone of them.

Great idea nonetheless

I actually put 4 of the 6 DDR2 into use this afternoon. As soon as I put WaterClocker back into service that will consume 4 DDR 400. ICE is gutted ATM waiting for fresh meat. I pulled the DDR600 from ICE

I have some incredible TCCD LE modules in Velocitor that run at over DDR600 and I thought I had found like--but the timings were slightly different. No watning to mess with a decent OC I now have some DDR that will make an MSI folding rig I have planned crank those WUs..

I have 2 downed rigs one set of DDR is from that as is one set of the G skill DDR2--which accounts for all except 4 sticks of RAM... just swapping stuff around mainly--ditto the ATI cards and the RAptors...

I treated myself to 2 sticks of Corsair Value ram for Christmas, and upgraded my CPU to an FX-55...*sob*

...Then again, my wife and I have a 250k mortgage, a car, RRSP's...but still, to have a mountain of goodies to tinker with, like that...sigh
