Sound dissappears

Having problems with my creative soundblaster x-fi titanium HD.

Backstory/detailed description of the problem, what I did before and what I've done to try and fix it;
I was pushing for the 5Ghz mark on my FX-8350 when it happened. I had just finished my routine stress testing when I fired up payday 2, to my suprise the sound suddenly dissappeared once I got out of the lobby and into the game. I exited the game and then I discovered that all system sound was gone. When I rebooted the sound was back as normal, just as it was before it derped out. I once again fired up payday and just as last time the sound dissapeared as soon as I entered a game. Went back out and started fiddeling with my sound settings to see if i could get it back by turning sertain features on/off. No luck here, checked the cables quickly and those were all propperly connected. Reboted again and started up some other games to see if this happened only in payday, sound worked fine in defcon, a less demanding game, but when I fired up bioshock infinate the sound went down before the game would even start. At this point I just rebooted and reset the entire overclock, thinking it may not have been as stable as my tests sugested. Fired up payday again and no sound. I reinstalled the sound drivers and still no sound, I checked the sound card in the management that reported the soundcard was working as intended. I fired up my diagnostics tool, but it could not detect any errors. In other words, everything indicates that the soundcard is working as intended, but still it doesnt. I reset my entire system to 2 days before I started my last overclock, thinking that there was something I installed recently that was conflicting with my sound, fired up unigene heaven benchmarking tool and sound wnt out after 2-3 seconds.

I dont know what else to try at this point, Ive never had a similar problem before. Google couldnt help me.

If you can think of anything that might resolve this problem it would be greatly apreciated. Rig specs is in my signature under "All your base"

EDIT1: further testing, using the AIDA64 stability test set to only FPU makes the sound go away, similar to when I go into games. In prime95 however I do not get the same problem.

I've located the problem and Ive fixed it. It was a windows problem so its not really related to the soundcard. Since no response was given I dont feel obligated to say thanks or share any details.

Sorry no one knew anything about your very specific problem, no need to be mad about it. Details could still help others that find this thread in the future.
