Slow SSD Boot

Hi there,

I've recently made a build with an 840 Pro 128GB, and a Seagate Barracuda 3TB. Now, after installing the Win7 to the SSD, it had incredible boot times, barely even loading the windows flag. However, once I assigned a drive letter to my HDD, the windows flag now loads fully, and hangs for about 10-15 seconds. My friend made a similar build, with an 840 and a seagate barracuda 2tb, and he hasn't had the same problem, so there must be some way to fix it.

Thanks

Is your HDD connected to a native Intel port?

What exactly do you mean? The SSD and HDD are both in a 6Gb/s SATA port, if that's what you're asking?

I am not sure about this board but I would make sure it is in the native intel 6Gb/s Port's. A lot of manufacturer also add 3rd party SATA Controllers on the motherboard to provide more than 6 6Gb/s ports.

I only have 6 SATA ports, and they're all in one cluster, so I assume they're all the native intel ones.
