thinking of getting the lenovo y410p... - Page 2

I'd rather have something that's mid-range graphics; the intel 4000 won't be able to run league that well :/

also, for combat arms, there's a weird glitch where if anyone uses a poison gas bomb of some sort the entire screen goes black, but only for integrated GPUs...

thanks for google music though! that's super useful biggrin.gif

hey, i just found out about lenovo's new t440 series that will come out this month (hopefully)! biggrin.gif

it has a nvidia gt720 and a quad core processor, as well as 12 hours of battery life without their life extension tech where you can hot-swap batteries since the laptop has integrated and detachable batteries (so 2 total).

it's amazing stuff o.o

Have you bought lenovo t440?
If so, then a few questions:
- which model (t440p, t440s etc.)?
- can you compare t440x and clevo w230st? Size, build quality. Does it feel as cheap plastic for clevo?
- can you compare quality of keyboards?

I'm asking because I want to buy laptop with powerful quad core CPU. I also don't need graphic, thus intel graphic is fine.
Currently I'm choosing between clevo w230st and thinkpad t440p
What would you recommend?

I was main thinking of switching because my clevo w230st has really short battery life >.>

If the lenovo is in really bad condition in terms of battery life as well....I might as well just stick with the w230st.

Well... if you're looking for a gaming laptop that's got good battery life, 4+ hours is about as high as you'll see. Technically speaking, 4+ hours is pretty high for an every day laptop, you have to bend over backwards to get higher battery life out of most of the generic line up, or go for an Ultrabook...

Haswell seems to be better about battery life than previous gen CPUs, but that's just the CPU, not the rest of the machine.

Kind of older thread, don't know if you had upgraded yet.. But even my T420 with a intel3000 plays league of legends great, only hangs occasionaly when I run dual monitors. But I have to run low/ low medium for starcraft and warcrack. Not that I blame you for wanting more then a intel4000

I was even getting 4.5-5 hours of battery life playing LoL over wifi (with my usually stuff running in the background).. Of course, that's with a 9 cell 94wh.. But it is 2 years old now wink.gif

If you get anything with a real nice video card, your battery life will suffer. Like others said, 4hours+ gaming is pretty good
