[SP] Microsoft to Let Windows 7 Die Quicker than Windows XP - Page 6

Protip: Windows 8/8.1 are fine operating systems. People are just turds that don't change.

Are there things that are lame? Yeah, the Windows app store is kind of useless for me. But I'm sure there's a few apps in there that would be useful for stuff.

But I don't need to use that, so I don't...

And the rest of the OS is just fine, the file transfer dialog is awesome, the updated task manager is fantastic...performance is good, I like the START MENU, for a launcher. I don't have any live tiles on it, it works pretty well.

EDIT: What I'm getting at is, Windows 7 in 10 years will be old junk, Microsoft has improved on things quite a bit, and will continue to do so.

I'm saying this from the standpoint of someone who doesn't really like MS that much, and as soon as I'm able to I'll probably move over to Linux; drivers and other things are holding me back.

The problem I have with M$'s windows 8 is not because of the UI, but the internal changes and the fact that they're trying to put me into a walled garden... no thank you M$...

More advanced or not, I'm using Windows XP and I'm happy with it. I'm definitely happier using Windows 7 over Windows 8. It's unfortunate MS has to push their latest product as if it's the best thing ever. It's not a bad thing for people to be happy with Windows 7. I'll admit it: Windows 7 is a solid OS. Why so quickly push Windows 8 on people? I honestly don't see what's improved aside from that silly metro menu.

Also, anyone think it's strange they're ending support for Windows XP on April 8th?

I have no problems with windows 8 .. I love it cause when I install it it knows all the drivers my computer needs including the internet driver in windows 7 I have to manually find the drivers for the computer I hate it from a computer builders perspective.. I don't know what all the fuss is about let windows 7 die along with the start button ..People just don't want to learn something new ....

Since Steam is moving to Linux, so will I. IF a game is not usable on SteamOS, I won't be needing to play such a game.

Vista and 7 are not that much different....

W8 has quite a few under-the-hood improvements over 7. People are just stuck solely on the GUI.
Once again...

I swear most of this community is friggin blind. This has nothing to do with pushing windows 8, who really will cling on to an operating system for so long? And they are canceling support, theyre just not extending it...learn to read people.

And I swear half of the people calling win8 a "monstrosity" are just jumping on the hate bandwagon and haven't used it before
