In fact, most of their recent games have been product showcases. Crysis 3 showed how powerful and efficient the Cryengine 3 was; the game was easily one of the best looking games on each respective platform and yet it was multiplatform. It competed with 1st party games for technical prowess, which should say a lot about how impressive the engine's abilities are.

So far their foliage and physics simulations seen in the Ryse demos have looked quite impressive, especially the ropes snapping on the ships. If I'm noticing this, you can better other potential game developers are noticing

I understand that the Xbox One has it's limitations but for a launch game, and an exclusive one at that, I feel that not hitting AT LEAST 1080p (if you aren't going to do 60fps) is just sad.

I mean, right out the gate we have a new IP, NEXT-GEN console exclusive, and an awesome game engine and they can't even get the game to full HD.

I've said it before and I'll say it again...next-gen sucks.

Xbox 360s Perfect Dark and Project Gotham 3 werent 720p. Nor was halo 3.

1080p is not done end all be all resolution to hit.

Forza is 1080p by the way. You can't just look at the resolution and ignore the entire picture... very narrow minded, especially from what should be an informed membership on OCN


The benefits of 1080p versus the benefits of better shading and AA, those are factors weighed with every game.

It's up to the developers to choose which options best represents the vision they have for the game. The developers decided that 900p and better shading best represents the vision they had compared to going full 10800 at the expense of frame rate and or qualitative features.
