It was nearly vehemently argued what kind of negative effect Mantle would have on PC gaming. Now we see that Nvapi was already used in BF3. Yet most of us didn't know it until now. I think at this point, how they've developed nvapi is not our problem. It's out there, it's been used in game(s) and, imo debunks those negative claims against mantle. Furthermore, since it's coincides with the nextgen console it's a double win.
I recall a time when AMD helped push DX11 out there to developers. There was a lot of negativity claiming that if DX10 didn't take off neither will DX11. Yet AMD helped push one or 2 games back then. I think one of them was Dirt 2. Anyway, we can see how well DX11 over took DX10 today. Something to think about...
