What is the best way to apply as5, the one on the artic silver website or another one? I have a amd 3700+SD. I just got a Big Typhoon and I don't want to mess anything up . Any detailed instructions?

put just enough to cover the cpu with a thin layer and use a old credit card or something of the sort to smooth out an even layer over the proc. it should be just enough to cover so you cant read the lettering not alot at all

Glob about the size of a pea on the middle of the proc, put heatsink on top, rotate about 5 degrees back and forth, tighten heatsink.

All you need is like the dollop the size of a rice grain, and spread it as thin as you can. The pressure from heatsink will spread it evenly. Too much can actually hurt your cooling, become too much of an insulator between the proc and the heatsink.

triple consensus, gotta be true... hehe, good luck

Just do a really thin layer. The point is to fill in the tiny spaces (you won't be able to see them well if at all) because AS5 is better than air. The metals touching is the best, but you would have to have both be totally flat and have perfect contact which isn't going to happen.

So I should just put a size of a BB in the middle of the cpu, then put the heatsink on and rotate a couple degrees right and left then tighten it up?

Is your BT Lapped? (Did you sand it down to a flat surface?)

if not, your going to need to do that first before anything, unless your BT is already flat. usually when they come out of manufacturing, they are VERY Convex / Concave.
