Corsair 750D Owners Club - Page 385

I'm also a big fan of black'n'blue. Just swapped all my Corsair cables for their blue kit:

Stuck both my HDDs in the optical bay to allow more direct airflow to the GPU and CPU. Since this (horribly grimy) pic was taken I've put the X60 in push-pull with four NF-A14s.

I have 6 of these running right now and they are dead silent, pushing lots of air & most importantly look very, very good biggrin.gif
But honestly all their fans are great, just choose your flavour here.

Interesting.

I suspect that the SP vs. AF case fan argument is somewhat academic beyond a certain point. I have a mixture of Noctuas and Corsair AF Quiet Edition fans, and I usually undervolt them for near-silence. Would the temps be hugely different if I switched the AFQEs to SPs? I tried changing all the case fans to NF-F12s, of which I seem to have about half a dozen lying around, but at lower voltages the difference was unnoticeable. I guess maybe a full suite of A14s might make a small difference, but then Noctuas also suffer from being extremely hideous, so I went back to AFQEs.

I still want to buy corsair fans because they match my rig best. But what kind of fans is best is front of case? (from corsair)

On the front I use Corsair AF140 Quiet Edition fans (in this case, the blue LED type). On the bottom I have AF120 Quiet Edition fans. The static pressure ones are visually identical. Unfortunately, Corsair don't make static pressure versions of the 140 fans.

I agree the Corsair fans look great in almost any build, but nearly all of mine suffered from a "ticking" noise, and after switching my new fans just some generally more quiet..

Yes, Corsair's quality control isn't everything it could be. I've been lucky with mine though. Noise levels are comparable to Noctuas, and I also undervolt.

I do feel very strongly that at the least, Corsair should release two versions of every Obsidian case: standard and elite (or some such). The slightly higher price bracket could include options such as a full set of Quiet Edition fans, and so on. It's so wasteful to turn out these cases with fans that everyone knows you're going to have to replace from the get-go. I've got an entire cupboard full of fans that are unlikely to ever see any use (anyone want to buy some?? you could build a hovercraft or something).

I can certainly agree on Corsairs fans, my first 2 were SP120 PEs used in Push/pull on an older H60, but were obnoxiously loud at full speed. One even had a really BAD ticking/clicking noise at first, but after a minute, it went away...
The ticking seems pretty dependent on the fan controller quality too, my first one was the NZXT Sentry "mesh" and it made the corsair fans tick when run at slow speeds and even ticked some itself. the next was the NZXT Sentry II which has better components and the ticking was almost non existent.

Speaking of all the ticking noise, anyone been using the Corsair H105 all in one rad? I like the performance and simpleness in getting into water cooling but the pump seems to make a lot of noise. I've tried tapping on it, running it for days in a test environment, even traded it in for another unit and still the same. Are they all this noise or do they need some heat to work themselves in. Not sure if its bubbles, or what since I'm so new to this. Comments appreciated.

Re. the H105: if working correctly the pump should be silent, or pretty damn near silent. If it's audible from outside your case there is definitely something wrong with it. I've had an H100i (which died) and I'm now running an X60, and neither of the pumps on these units made any sound whatsoever when operating.

Corsair has developed a bit of a negative rep regarding quality control of its AIO coolers. I was pretty disappointed that my H100i spazzed out after 7 months of service. And someone chucked out the receipt, so no RMA for me! I love Corsair, but I won't be getting another of their coolers.
