why did you do your gpu that way? why didnt you just run short tubes inbetween them (parallel set up) instead of doing a unnecessary C looking loop to connect the two? i suppose it works lol but it would be much cleaner build if you connected them going up and down and painted your fans to match the case!

I wanted to do short tubes but the 295 and the 290 in/out isn't perfectly parallel. It's off by 1/2 of an inch -_- I am researching the use of a bitpower dual rotary 90 degree and an extender. I'm asking around for people that have done that with my setup. (295x2 Owners Club)
Also, I didn't want to paint my fans because the color matches my headphones. (Sennheiser HD 598)
The entire setup is black, Red, Grey, and Brown... even on the desk

even if its off a little bit you could still run tubes to them they would just be slanted a little! Can't believe you bought a 295 a thousand dollar card that came with a AIO loop and took it off and bought a water block and stuff for it! I think I woulda left it as is for that price lol

Still wouldn't be able to do it. The cards are 2 slots away. Adding barbs or even the smallest compression fittings still wouldn't fit.
And the AIO cooler is crap. VRMs get too hot and the card throttles even at stock clocks. Besides that, nothing beats the performance of custom cooling thumb.gif

My setup the cards are two pci slots away and I have them ran like so! But maybe Im just not following you! And yes AIO coolers suck especially ones with a single rad on them lol! I just dunno if I woulda spent the money to do all that even if I had a grand to throw at it! I feel like I woulda bought 2/3 top notch cards and did a custom loop biggrin.gif

You're running a bridge though. you don't have to account for barb and screw space.
And really, for a grand, I'm basically getting (2) 290x's anyway. I saved money on another GPU block/backplate and also, the PLX chip on the 295X2 helps with performance. The 4790k only have 16 PCIE3 lanes, so triple GPU cards wouldn't have enough bandwidth (which is where the PLX comes into play).

I also invested in a ROG Swift Monitor, so triple GPU's will allow me to max anything out at 80+FPS @1440P for probably 3 years. No need to upgrade for a very long time!

I have the same ivey bridge 6-core chip as you smile.gif love that chip although mine is not overclocked! I have two gtx 970's waterblock will get release this week, so then it will be water cooled in my loop! right now I just have the cpu being cooled by three rads temps dont go above 28 lol! hoping with the two cards temps stay at about 36ish! my 660 ti's under load never got over 38 and these cards are supposed to be lower temp and more profermance so I will be testing that out shortly!

240 rads are silent as for rpms arent as high! just make sure you buy high pressure static fans! I use "corsair SP" high performance but everyone has their own idea on fans! noctua SP is another high recommended one! I like corsair as for it matches my case and they have color rings to match the inside of the loop depending on what color scheme you go with!

I'm interested in your opinion nkd90 ,as you mention preference to 280 rad up front .

I am wanting to get a EX 280 for upfront and cut out metal obstructing airflow at inside front front ( the strips for fan and rad mount down the inside that pass right over the best part of the fan blades ), just cutting a disk out each side to follow contour of the fan casing ,each side.

I like the idea of utilizing the 140mm front opening fully, and I will be exhausting out the front, and on the subject of fans, I was originally going to go with SP120's through out case, but now I'm going for the Aerocool DS 140mm ( I have compared them to SP120 in basic tests with restriction and no restriction and they feel a lot better on both tests , just by feel of cool wind on face very unsophisticated but effective lol )

So I have read lots of forums and opinions, about what rad better, what fan better this config that, and the feeling I get is that it is splitting hairs and as long as you getting good static pressure and air flow and enough rad surface area then it will be fine.

So do you like the Idea of 140mm on a 280 rad up front maybe even push pull unobstructed ,exhaust , filter removed, and metal removed to increase flow, I like this idea and think the DS fan great personally, though some on Daves fan debate forum disagree prfering Delta Noctuas of Jetflow ,I like the aesthetics of the DS 140 and the Akasa Viper 140, but i do have concerns about the Vipers PWM tick ?
