Corsair 750D Owners Club - Page 858

Just finished my new build. The only thing that bugs me is the PSU. The 24 pin connector and one of the 8 pin connectors are to short and make the case look messy. As soon as I get a new one I will be set. Let me know what you guys think.

I´ve postet a small buildlog earlier this week here.

In short:
I´ve used some white LED strips with a very high density 120 LED/m and placed them around the motherboard an dimmed them with a poti and a MOSFET. For the yellow color i used LED acrylic which removes lightspots due to is special (extra) diffuse texture. I´ve cut it to size with a fretsaw so it makes a flush frame for the motherboard. The rest of the tray is satin black acrylic. Both parts were glued together and boltet to the existing tray from behind, using some standoffs to make some space between the LEDs and the acrylic for a more diffuse effect. Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

For the frontpanel i´ve bought a big sheet of QG 10-15 aluminium.

Then i removed evry second bridge with my dremel rotary and filed down the rough edges.

Wetsanded and spraypainted it mat black.
Ist fixed with some magentic stripes to the front of the case. The strips should be able to hold 5 kg so its quite robust.
With two layers of magnetic stripes each 1.2mm thick and the 1.5mm thick aluminium it fits flush with the front IO biggrin.gif

Another nice gimmick i didn´t mention is the dual 3.5" stealth HDD mount on the backside tongue.gif

That's very impressive, the light effect around the edges of the board really turned out great. Something that you don't see every day. As for the front panel, I don't know if I can do that, it sounds like a very tedious process eek.gif but it looks nice nonetheless.

You should look for 24pin and 8pin extension cables so you can route both connectors behind the MB tray. That should clear up the clutter in the front and will help to better your case airflow inside the case.

It took me around 6+ hours (shouldn´t have bought no-name cutting baldes tongue.gif) just to remove the bridges and sanding it but as you allready said: it's worth it! Just make sure to remove only the right ones teaching.gif after 5 hours you fear the chance of removing the wrong one ^^.

And just go for it if you want to try it! All parts for the frontpanel were around 30€ in total. This was my first casemod ever so i believe you can do it biggrin.gif

I´m going to add a iluminated corsair sail in the bottom of the front and illuminate the rest somewho and i´m going to paint the front fans yellow. Still so much to do like sleeving an adding a PSU cover. But i´m happy that you like it biggrin.gif!

Great idea, I need something to cover up at the bottom as you can see here -

Should I paint the fans, maybe Red or White?

I like your painted fascia. If your interrior is still white (you mentioned rebuilding it from a single piece of metal) i would go for red fanblades. They would be a nice contrast to the white cathodes (i guess) near them. You could go further by painting the shroud of the fans white.

Maybe add a red corsair sail at the bottom?thumb.gif

Getting this case Wednesday! Question, I'm replacing the front fans and rear fan with 3 AF140 quiet editions. Would I be able to take one of the stock fans and place it on the bottom of case, and if so should it be intake or exhaust?
OH NO

Looks awesome! I really like how it glows, not too much, just enough to recognize the Corsair sails logo. Nicely done thumb.gif

I don't think it'll make a huge difference in terms of performance, but I say intake. That should keep your case internal airflow positive.

Hi!
I have a problem with my case, the front cover won't attach properly any longer. It seems the hooking mechanism top right have broken somehow. The hooks are there and push in, but they won't grip and hold the cover, and when you gently push them in there's no clicky sound/they don't lock like the left one do.
Is this something that might be fixable?

Also, for those of you that water-cool, where do you fasten your reservoir? Any of the existing holes or do you drill your own?
