Can't really comment on the cpu cooler. All i can say is in tge subforum i visit here on OCN, quite a few would recommend going either with a big air cooler or custom water. Not thinking of a larger monitor? And are you planning to run your gpu in sli? Cos that psu us way overkill for just one gtx 970. Take a look through @shilka's thread for psu recommendations

The cooler I want to reuse in a later build in a 250d and the psu I was thinking the same but I will be after-dinner another gpu and doing a custom water loop too

But thanks I'm going to checknout the other sub forums

ahhh, ok. Then your choices make sense though. Other than that i'd personally go with a 1440p monitor at least. But that's just me

From a practical stand point, that 1200w PSU is way too much for a single 970 build. If you are thinking of adding a 2nd card in the future for an SLI set up, then 750-850w would be the range I'd go for.

But if "Overkill" is a word that doesn't exist in your world, then I won't stop you from getting that AX1200i biggrin.gif - It's one of the best PSU currently available in the market.

That's interesting to know. Would a 1200W psu also be overkill for an SLI 980ti?? Since i know an 850W psu might be cutting it a bit close for xfire 290X that're oc-ed
