If you're going to be doing photo editing work you should probably go with a monitor that has great color accuracy and quality, and the Qnix QX2710 and X-Star DP2710 (same monitor) have the best colors out of the box and the second best calibrated colors out of several monitors (including namebrand) in this review

Also, you can choose whether you want a glossy screen or one with a very light anti-glare coating.
The Qnix/X-Star also overclock the best, but with the downside (for you) that they don't have display port, at least on the overclocking model.
Can't beat them for $300!

I believe that was the original/older version of the Monoprice 27" display. It wasn't the latest version 'Zero-G' that is out now, which is $400.Edited by Remmib - 9/30/13 at 6:32am
