Just a quick update:

The new G400s is great, and working well in BF3. Aiming, turning, and looking around in game are all much smoother.

I updated to Windows 8.1 today and there is an issue with the mouses hz. On the desktop it sticks to 100hz. When you open up a browser such as Chrome it jump to 250hz. To avoid any problems I have been running my games in Windows 8 compatibility mode.

I did the following steps:

Right click the EXE of the game in question
Go to properties
Go to the compatibility tab
Tick the box marked ‘run this program in compatibility mode for’ and select ‘Windows 8’
Tick ‘disable scaling on high DPI settings’
Tick ‘run this program as an administrator

Hopefully MS or someone will release a driver or patch to solve this issue.

Well, thankfully games with raw mouse input are not affected by this issues http://forums.logitech.com/t5/G-series-Gaming-Mice/Warning-Windows-8-1-has-problems-with-gaming-mice/m-p/1112059
