1. Disable Defrag, Indexing, and what else? Kingston V300 120GB SSD Sata3 (I have it in a SATA 3 port)

2. What program do I use to bench my speeds?

3. And after I install Windows 8 Pro, I plug in my old HDD make sure SSD is still boot drive in BIOS, but I should still be able to play all my steam games that are on HDD just fine, or will all that have to be reinstalled?

DIsable the two you said, make sure TRIM is on, make sure AHCI is enabled in the BIOS, make sure hibernation is off, if you have enough RAM disable page file and if you don't revert it to the HDD.

Make sure your chipset and motherboard drivers are all up to date.

As far as programs, I used Samsung SSD Wizard, but I also have samsung SSDs..

For your games, you can easily go into steam preferences and add a steam library and go to your current steam folder! smile.gif Hopefully this helped.

Yes disable defrag
Update the firmware, kingston should have something on their website
For a stupid fast OS install create a bootable usb drive.
To bench there's the AS SSD benchmark
You will probably have to reinstall the actual steam client. but not the games. there is a function in steam to back up your games, you might get better luck moving them to a "backup" folder, and pulling them out afterwards. But you can play them off the hdd. Maybe someone else can shed more light as i've never half moved steam games.
