AMD Catalyst Application Profiles

Thread Starter
I read on another forum that these are included with every new driver release. Is that accurate? I'm testing a pair of 4870X2's in Quad and scaling with 1 card is excellent but with 2 it just goes down the toilet. I'm using the 13.5 CAP1's but is there anyway i could get the 13.10 beta CAPS?

According to my knowledge Beta drivers have their own CAPS packed with them, while WHQL have to install the latest.

Since I have only single GPU, I dont install them anyway... If you have 13.10 beta driver try to uninstall 13.5 caps and re-test the performance again.

As there were trouble (people were reporting low performance of crossfire while they forgot to install CAPS) its possible that CAPS are included in the drivers to prevent human error for last few years...

Also 4000 series are not fully supported. I would use much older drivers instead and capless...

The AMD rep (Thrax I believe) said you should always install caps and the driver would use whichever is newer from either the built in or cap.

Thats the problem. The 4 series isnt supported anymore with driver updates and the last one was 13.4.

Ah ok.

I don't know if they can be extracted from the driver itself and used standalone.
