Need some Technical Advice

Thread Starter
I'm building a new PC and I bought this video card http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814150202

and 2g of this RAM http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820145015

so if I use this processor
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819116213

will I still be able to run newer games (WoW, BF2) on high settings?

If you need any more info about my future PC just ask.

why buy a smithfield? i don't think it supports DDR2. if you're going to spend 100 bucks you migth as well spend 200 bucks on an e6300 and get the performance. buy a different motherboard and you'll be fine.

you can run BF2 on a pretty high setting w/ the 7900GS, but you're hurting yourself w/ the processor choice.

and to better help you please fill your user cp out

Is this is a new build? Get a better processor... 2.8GHz Pentium D is a bit dated. In any case, you still should be able to to play WoW and BF2 on high settings. However, you won't be able to do so on future games. How is your budget $100 when you already purchased a $150 video card? What's your total budget and we'll build you a system.

I kind of went all-out on the RAM and video-card and figured I could just grab some mediocre processor...

well you can't get DDR2 memory w/ that processor, have to stick w/ DDR. if you want good price to performance stick w/ AMD. you can pick up processors new and used dirt cheap. a 3500+ on here goes for about 40-50 bucks. you can get a stick of 512 ram for about 50 bucks...but then there goes your 100 bucks.

$184 for a E6300. If you can't afford, save up! That will be the best $84 you ever spent.
