Is there a way to have Windows Server 2008R2 automaticly move data from one computer to a storeage rack?

I cannot seem to find a way to have it move all data "I.E. - Recorded TV Shows" from say my HTPC to a NAS (Or the server itself) every day at 2AM...

Anyone got a clue?

Write a batch script that will do it, and set that to run as a Scheduled Task. Easy.

For example:
Code:
robocopy D:\piratedTVshows \\server\piratebooty\tv /mir /copyall

where D:\ is the directory you're moving files from (local) and \\server\* is the destination.

That is what I needed. That was rude to assume that it was pirated though. I'm recording OTA with TV Cards.

Same thing basically. tongue.gif

As others have said, a batch script robocopy will do the trick. I have something similar running but fetching files daily from a remote FTP server using WinSCP and the windows scheduler.

I thought I'd offer a couple more robocopy options since I just got through copying about 700 gigs over my local network (15Mbps no less, don't ask).
Code:
robcopy "d:\recorded Matthew McConaughey" "\\server\Matthew McConaughey movies" /mir /eta /tbd /v /z /R:3 /W:1

Since you were so offended by the insunuation of piracy I'll insinuate you're a Matthew McConaughey fan instead biggrin.gif

eta - as it sounds, tries to predict what time it will finish
v - verbose, cuz i like some details
tbd - supposed to help with network copies, something to do with verifing network paths or...something
z - "restartable mode" also supposed to help with network copies
r:3 - retry a failed copy 3 times before giving up (default is like a million or something) -
w:1 - wait time between retries, also defaults to a million or 10 thousand, something ridiculous... (time in seconds)
