New to Haswell, experienced advice needed

Thread Starter

I've been overclocking my 4770K for a while now, getting to grips with it, since my previous CPU was a gen1 i5 750

I've been wondering what core voltages would be considered for everyday use/gaming, for most of the time I've been running at 4,2GHz at 1.15V (core voltages )

The combo is..

CPU: Core i7 4770K

mobo: Asus Sabertooth Z87

Cooler: Corsair H100i

I'm still wondering what would be safe, voltage wise. For daily usage and so on, is 1.4v on the cores considered "safe"? I don't want to cause damage to it though.

I'm looking to squeeze 4,5GHz, i'm just wondering where i should limit myself...

temps are really your biggest concern and your voltages will be relative to that. i doubt unless you delidd with haswell you will even be able to hit voltages of 1.4v before the temperatures get really high. generally speaking though 1.4v isnt really much to be concerned about just try not to go over 90C because your max temp is about !00C
