My mom wants big screen, big brand phones though. Like Apple, Samsung, Motorola, HTC, Sony, Nokia. Etc

If I could afford to get both of my parents iPhones, I really would.

No fuss, no grief. Not many bugs and if you do get them they just close the app. That's where the complications end.

I have just setup an iPhone 5 for the father in law, got him use to it by himself and he has gone an entire day without any gripes and still had 72% battery left. He chats on the phone a lot.

He had a Galaxy S3 before and I faced months of questions about issues I had no answer to, they were just random crashes and oddness that nobody can solve. Like "Why did my battery vanish yesterday, I hardly touched it"

I don't think Android is as user friendly as manufacturers wish it was, that is why they skin the hell out of it.

I am a big user of mobiles and very clue'd up on them.

My recent history goes Nokia N96 > HTC Hero > HTC Desire > iPhone 4 > Galaxy S2 > HTC Sensation > Galaxy Note > HTC One X > Galaxy Nexus > Galaxy S3 and then on to an iPhone 5.

We have a HTC One that my partner uses, she seems settled with it now I guess.

Out of all of those I can hand on heart say, the iPhone 4 and 5 have been the most pleasurable and straight forward device to have.

I honestly got sick of flashing different roms, unlocking bootloaders and tinkering with voltages to get better battery life.

Apple have got me in this respect, not a fan of their other kit though.
