[VC] NVIDIA working on GeForce GTX 770 TI with 1920 CUDA cores? - Page 9

The nonsense that NVIDIA had initially overcharged for the 780 will be abolished if this is confirmed. One can immediately observe that their main fear is the 290, a supposedly $449 card and not a higher priced hard, showing that is where the critical mass of the bulk of the profit concentrates as I had suspected, around the $400 budgets. Of course all details on numbers on specs and prices should be taken with a grain of salt.

All I care about at this point is AMD actually telling us about 290x, and what mantle is really going to be, and for whom.

+1 for Nvidia response to gpu14.

original R9-280X rumors were 850GHz core clock... Videocardz still has this as base clock.

non reference R9-280X is supposed to be 1070 or 1100 MHz boosted core and 1600Mhz memory clock ; if they're voltage locked we can expect these to be the core limits even if CCC limit is 1500MHz core . If Techpowerup's TDP limit is right (unlikely since the card is not out), the R9-280X is supposed to have 200W TDP , which is much lower than the 300W HD7970GE (HD7970 was 250W TDP) however.

HD7970GE is 1Ghz core clock, 1500MHz memory clock

Both HD7970GE and R9-280X come with 2048 shaders (Tahiti XT), 3GB memory on 384-bit bus.

It's unlikely to be faster stock than the GTX 770 because the GTX 770 has a ~+40Mhz faster core (1046 MHz , 1085 Mhz Boost ... some aftermarket boost to 1250Mhz) and ~+250MHz memory clock (1753 MHz ... ~224GB/s bandwidth) than GTX 680 (1006 MHz , 1058 MHz Boost with 1502 MHz memory clock)

Why are we talking like the GTX 770 has only been out for a couple days? It barely manages to beat the 7970GE after all the revamps to the 680. My matrix 7970 trounces any 770 out there stock for stock and I doubt reducing memory clocks by 50mhz is going to change that.

The Matrix 7970 is not a stock 7970GE. smile.gif

Matrix 7970GE is 1050MHz core, 1100Mhz boost and 6600MHz effective memory (1650MHz memory clock)

P.S. I'm not even a fan of Nvidia but go check overclockers.ru latest review ... overclocked vs overclocked.
originally I posted it on http://www.overclock.net/t/1428649/overclockers-ru-in-pursuit-of-performance-the-video-card-fall-2013-issue-number-6

Trying to compare the Matrix 7970 to a regular 770? lachen.gif

If you want to use the Matrix use the 770 Lightning to compare

$300 is not happening anytime soon, not retail or first resale..

Party crasher!
I just looked at my usual etailer's weekly sale...the MSI 770 Gaming doesn't bulge at $399...might be a little early.
