Where have you been? All the companies do it. Intel being the biggest abuser, then Nvidia, then AMD. I'm not saying one company is more legitimate than another, its just that with more capital you can afford to buy more optimizations.

Its not that AMD is only allowing it on frostbite 3, its that frostbite 3 is their initial step. If it works well, and isnt a hassle to code for, expect more engines to adopt it in the next year or two. This is just the beginning.
