E6600 too hot?

Thread Starter
Hi I'm new here and I have a E6600 non-overclocked. If I run temp monitoring software a weird temp reading pops up and says core 1 is running at 80c. although the two other core temps says 30-31c which is what my LCD temp gauge says. I have no clue why these programs think I have a third core that is running hot does anyone know any good CPU monitoring software for temperatures?

Try using Intel Thermal Analysis Tool. This should give you proper cpu temp readings.

Core Temp Beta is very accurate too imo. I had TAT and CTB running side by side once and they displayed the same data.
