Swapped Haswell motherboards....many issues if anyone can help

Thread Starter
So i posted this up on another forum but haven't heard back from anyone so i figured i'd post it here. So i finally switched from an Asus Z87-Pro to a Maximus Hero 1150 board. I tried un-installing everything i thought was related to the Z87 board (drivers, etc.). But now i'm having lots of issues. Programs aren't installing...pretty much the only program i was able to install was the actual Maximus Hero drivers now that i have an optical drive. I can't get Catalyst Control Center to open. It's downloaded and installed, but won't open. It gives a "CCC cannot open because there's an error or your hardware isn't working properly"....something to that effect. Basically the entire computer is running slowly.
One more strange question if someone could answer it. I accidentally got loctite glue on one of the crossfire ports (the outside port). I'm just wondering if it matters which crossfire bridge i plug in. If it doesn't matter that's great news, then i'll just connect the other bridge. Somebody told me i could use Acetone to remove the glue but i feel that's risky. Any input would be appreciated and as always i appreciate your guys help. I think it might be time to wipe my drive and re-install Windows 7...although i really don't want to. Too many games on it.

Motgerboard change for me would mean full reformat and reinstall of windows. There are more than just drivers that windows sets up in the registry.

Also your games. If they are in steam just copy the "steam apps" folder to another hard drive. Wont have to reinstall. Same goes for origin. Origin will see the downloaded files and reinstall in less than a minute.

Agreed. You're better off reinstalling everything with a new mobo, just for maximum stability and compatibility.

Sorry for the inconvenience, but enjoy your new motherboard!!
