I saw a post about this on Reddit and was considering doing this change this weekend. It looks like you have an i5 3570k, correct? So this change is not only good for i7 with Hyperthreading and 8 core 8350 CPUs?
This may be a silly question, and I know he addressed it in the video, but say for example it makes my performance worse, you can undo the registry changes the exact same way using the program? If I had unparked 2 cores, I would run it again, they would show up, then I would park those two pack again? Your comment is especially good to hear because I have been suffering from client crashes constantly since launch (along with 90% of the populations it seems).
Can you provide any other information regarding performance on Windows 8? I still have not pulled the trigger on this yet because I would really like to not reinstall all my programs/games. I am considering doing this over the holidays when I have some more time to tinker with my system.
I have been getting I'd say 100+ average FPS using High settings with SLI 760s. Whats yours look like?
