They all reportedly had experience using Source engine in the past combined with there experience using IdTech for CoD and its similarities to Source.

The Cinematic Mod is always a good example of using the Source engine to its full potential, at least the vanilla version used in the HL2 series.

Source has and always will be a very versatile engine, easy to mod, build, and add additional components. I still don't think Portal would of existed in any other engine besides Source due to the mechanics of how it all works. Heck, you still have the monster that Garry's Mod is, even if it's not quite as popular as it was a couple years ago. I'm still kind of surprised on how few developers will use the engine, especially with indie devs. I mean, with a bit of tweaking, as with Titanfall, you can have Source do all sorts of amazing things.

Apparently you need Origin to play on PC. I know a lot of people have no problem with that, and I respect that, but personally I have zero trust for EA which means I won't play it. Unless it comes to Steam or can be run without either Steam or Origin that is.
